Darn, I totally forgot about this. Between horses and reptiles I'm being pulled both ways. I really need to bring my camera back out. It's in the safe, so of course, out of sight, out of mind.

I think I remember you saying you were going to get an albino royal python. Did you get it in the end then or did you already have reptiles?

I like how you guys call them royals over there. Over here we just call them balls. And no, I did not. I still have my normal female and currently don't have room for another tank. I could just get a snake rack, but for one, I don't think they're aesthetically pleasing to look at, and Medusa is very active, so I don't think she would like it. I haven't really found an albino for a good price yet anyway.

A lot of people here still call them balls, it's just that it's a nickname. They're called royal pythons because of the latin name See with me having a snake room, my rack comes in handy. However, I'm finding less use for it as I won't have many to go in there with upgrading everybody to vivariums. You should make a post about Medusa! I'll have to do one for my scaly kids too

Personally, if you can find these cheap in the UK, I say try Exo-Terra. I love my Exo-Terra tank. I got the large low and it is beautiful. The only problem is they are sort of hard to keep warm and humid, however Medusa doesn't really mind too much. She is pretty much always on the cool side more than the warm side, but keeping that humid is the tricky part. It's a screen top, so I put some Plexiglass on top so it keeps heat and humidity in and you can't even notice it, but yesterday I made a DIY reptile fogger (looks awful but works better than anything else on market) to get the excess skin off. She's a really bad shedder. Anything else would work, especially those neat stacking cages, but honestly, I got a hookup, so it's cheaper for me to get Exo-Terra than a stacking cage, but those are nice too. I want to see some pictures of your herp room if you make the transition! I bet it would be great.

I use mostly large wooden vivariums now for nearly all of my reptiles, there's only a few non feeders that are in the racking system I use an exo terra at room temps for my sunbeam snake. Helps keep it well ventilated while the humidity in the exo is so high so it's a nice tank for him when he was used to a tub with his old owner. I'm lucky that my humidity is spot on with the others shedding though. Sometimes when I get a new addition that's shedding badly I will put them in a damp (not dripping) pillow case for a 'soak' and leave them for a bit. Duvet cover for the big guys. Works wonders. I'll post my scaly kid thread asap, as well as a few others, 'cause I'm lagging behind on my posting haha

I do like those, very attractive, however most are sideways siding doors. Medusa is a pro escape artist. She would be out of those in a flash.
I honestly want to expand my reptile selection. On my wishlist: female albino ball, male GTP, I'm having some red tailed boa kick right now (preferably jungle) and a few leopard geckos would be nice too. Definitely in my tiny house, I'm having a reptile room and an aviary. Not together though. I have it all planned out, but to be honest, I probably wouldn't get a RTB because of my limited house size. I do love the big boys though.

Have you seen my BCI? I have a HUGE adult, absolute monster snake for a boa haha. I really wanna show off my collection now haha. As much as I like the look of GTP, I'd rather not have another angry snake that hates me to death. I already have a few of those haha!
