I think I should start to tame Mango now, he has been here 5 months and he is comfortable being near me now but of course if I make any movements he will leave. What training method should I start with? He needs to get over his fear of hands once and for all.He is less likely to fly when I come near him now and will instead jump on my arm.

You need to start off by holding off on doing things he doesn't like. I saw a couple of pictures of him wearing a harness. You say he doesn't like hands. That means that he thinks that your hands mean that you're going to make him wear a harness which he doesn't like.
You are going to start with feeding him millet from your hands. Soon, start asking him to step up your finger to get millet. Then you can not use any millet and he will come to you.

If you have any specific questions, don't be afraid to ask. I have tamed many cockatiels that were not tame at all in the past. I have a lot of taming experience. I know Mango isn't a cockatiel, but the same tricks can be used to train him.

I never use the harness on him and he dosent like millet thats more for small birds. He is afraid of hands so he wouldnt step up on them before going to any of that he needs to learn to take treats from something else like a long stick with the treat on the end.

I dont think so, Cockatiels and Budgies are easier to tame than other parrots otherwise I wouldnt need help if Mango was a Cockatiel lol, I have lots of taming experience too I only need help with Mango because he is different lol.

I don't think it matters on the species. You just need to find something that he likes and let him eat or play with it while you hold it. He will associate you with something pleasurable.
Is there anything you're doing that makes him uncomfortable? I did see him wearing a harness before. Maybe there is something else or maybe he is still upset about the harness. You just have to get on his good side until he knows that you are a part of his flock.

You can try that method. I know he's scared of hands. You need to tame him so he can get used to them.Is it possible to experiment on what foods he likes best? He has to like something. Maybe his seed mix?

Great idea! What you can do is gradually mover your hand that's holding the perch closer and closer until he has no more room on the perch and steps on your finger. This can take some time so try to have patients. I have used this method on 2 cockatiels before and it has worked. Some birds might need their own method for taming than others. If you ever need more information on this method, feel free to ask. We wouldn't mind updates as well. Remember, we really want to help you tame Mango.
