i started today by refilling the foraging cup. then i took lenny out, trying the new method of covering the very top of the cage. he came out and sat on the loom perch on the sink. i worked with butch a lot and lenny just sat there. after the blue jay stopped screaming outside lenny calmed down. he didnt do any thing bad. putting him back was easy. he stayed on the perch and jumped on to the perch inside the cage instead of the side of the cage later on i was watching them and they were both at the foraging cup playing and eating millet. they both kept throwing the hay out. butch threw 2 pieces of hay in the water cup and started to play with those. then (after picking up all the hay and putting it back in the cup) i watched butch (the more innocent one) literally throwing the bead and rope pieces out of the cup!;D and i watched them a little more and the cutest thing happened. lenny came down and started pulling the hay out and playing with it in his beak, at the same time butch was grabbing the other end and playing tug-of-war with him. they continued to game throughout about 3 other pieces of hay i really have to start refilling the foraging cup more because they do love it. i think it becomes a bonding moment when they play together. while i was watching them i was making some cardboard shredder toys which i will post in another thread

i am glad my guys arent like that. even if they did bite i would just stand that and show them that it doesnt scare me and they would stop, it always worked for Pumble. i think parakeets are the only bird you could really do that with, it you do that with others, you might loose a finger
