I've been trying to train my senegal Duke to wave and do the 'turn around' trick but he keeps displaying the heart wings- anyone has any idea why he does this in this video- heart winging?

i'm by far an expert on sennies, but by his posture and beak movements i would wonder if it is almost a begging behaviour, it looks like he is begging for those treats. his beak is going, i see some head bobbing... he's an adult, but maybe he is just begging as an old behaviour. thats what i see, but i do not know for sure, just speculation.
my other theory is perhaps he sees you as a mate and is displaying to you. ive seen some slight head bobbing and beak movements as if he was thinking about regurgitating to you.

lol, I totally agreed with your other theory. I too got the feeling he was very excited about me feeding him and he in turn trying to regurgitate to feed back to me(a mate offering ;D) We all can only speculate when comes to behaviour like this. I don't think there is a specific senegal expert out there that can give a definite answer. We as humans are not even totally at understanding of each others behaviour let alone birds. You are good though- I think you're 99% correct on your speculation .

its something about his posture more than anything which is suggesting it

;D Thanks, I think maybe it's because senagals and African greys are close neighbours in the wild. I do agree with you about they are quite similar apart from the size and colours.
