i use willow, sycamore, and silver maple sometimes cottonwood. but the other kinds i listed are easiest for me to get

i have used it, its harder for me to get ahold of, being in a city but i REALLY like it. bark is very flaky and the birds love to rip the bark off ;D

i soak it in the tub with hot water, then i bake it in the oven to dry it and disinfect it completely.

i would be afraid to bake anything like that in the oven. i would be afraid of it catching on fire

nah, its not in long enough. half hour tops for the really thick branches, but should only take 5 minutes to dry. its done when the branch itself is really hot to the touch. i've yet to catch any on fire

i made the net last christmas for the lovebirds lol they love them. sometimes they're in their cages, sometimes out of the cages... just wherever i move them to. munch has one in her cage.
once she is done with her eggs, we have to think of a playgym for her in the bedroom. she's all by herself. but she hasnt wanted to come out, if she sees her cage she tries to go back in. so it wont be a spectacular playgym, but somewhere she can fly to to hang out if she wants.
