Saving me creating another thread while we're on the topic of plucking, if you don't mind I would like to add a bit about my fids plucking problem here . My conure Tai has been plucking my Daisy on top of her head. she was completely bald at first when the plucking started but the feathers have now started to grow back. If Tai continues to pluck Daisy will she be permanently bald one day?

It does look bigger her bald spot does, your Munch. My guys are are plucking because it's breeding season and their hormones are going haywire!

i'm thinking munch is plucking to line her nest, so it would be hormonal for her too. only time will tell if its from nesting or if its a habit lol

Well casey I think it has to do with nesting and hormonal stuff since u said earlier that she sits on her egg and she refuses to sit on the empty ones its probably her using her own feathers to create a nest and if its hormonal maybe its cuz its the season or something
As for tippa im sure its hormonal issues because my male tiel was plucking my other female tiel she wwnt bald all the way to the end of her neck, what I did (thanks to caseys advice) I let him sleep for longer hours, I gave him more preening toys and I also removed everything that could be used as a nest and I also tried keeping him busy like playing with him amd such

Sounds like it, it looks like shes getting whatever material she can get to make a nest
Hmm why dont u try giving her some tiny twigs or bedding materials for her to make a nest? Maybe it would stop her from plucking

How about a preening toy? Lool maybe she will pluck the feathers of that instead of her own
