So today. I was tired of him having his cage the way it was so I want to re-arrange it. I put the rope perch the other way than what it was and he protested by biting me the whole time i was doing it.

He sleeps weird. Basically upside down hanging from the bars. So I asked casey what I can do because I don't want to wake up one day to a dead bird that has falling while he was asleep hanging upside down. She gave me a youtube video on how to make a little sleeping tent for lovebirds / parakeets.

You just need cardboard and scissors (i didnt use any xD) and an old sock.

That's it! D: like seriously why do they make you pay 9 thousand dollars for one when u can make one for free !

He's so scared of it right now though. It's a new object so he doesn't know what to do.

Now he is seriously like mommy what is this?

He has been biting it / licking it / touching it. He saw he can go through it but hasn't tried it. Any tips to let him know its safe?

i would let him explore it at his own pace. maybe he wont use it tonight, but he might use it tomorrow, or the next day, or the next. eventually he will work up the courage to go inside

i think the tent is adorable, warm, and fuzzy!! if Mango didn't feed everything so fuzzy, i'd make him one like yours.... only it would get pretty ucky fast lol

i've had some toys that take awhile. Mango didn't accept his tent at first either. he showed no interest. then suddenly he loved it. same with the ball. he ignored his ball for weeks, then suddenly he was in love with it.

i find now that his wings are fully grown in, he has more confidence and he is into everything now.

and sometimes my tiels are scared of new toys. i just let them get used to it, and one day they may or may not accept it lol
