He is good he will try to fly from the top of the big tree down from the little tree, but he goes diagonal and falls to the ground but he will come over to me if I have the perch and he will get on it to go back on the tree. Taking him out is a breeze now because he jumps on the side of his cage a d waits for me to get the perh so he can het on and come out. He still tries to run sometimes when I put him back but he's been pretty good lately he still refuses human contact and if he flies (he is clipped so he mostly falls) off the tree and I catch him in my palm, he will keep flapping his wings until he gets to the ground. I don't take many pics of him because the camera scares him so he's just panting in most pics and I want him to feel safe so I stay away from him with it. He will eat millet from me if Leon eats it from me and they will eat lettuce from my hand

it sounds he is more bird oriented than people oriented, which is just fine. mango is like that too, he would rather be with birds than people. but it seems your perch method is working great for him

it is nice, and he will run right over to it when he flies to the floor, which is mostly leons fault, because he is getting wings- B-| - and so he flies to a far away branch and then butch tries, goes zig zag and falls to the ground, hitting everything on his way down maybe when butchs's 2 first flights grow back, (the last time he had A flight was when i first took him out and i clipped it, and he hasnt grown any since) i am going to leave them and see how he does. if he starts flying into walls, the will be clipped again. 2 days ago he jumped into the window that is like 6 inched away form the tree. he's never even tried to fly into it, then all of a sudden he jump onto the flat glass and falls

when they first start flying after being clipped, often they are clumsy for a little while and might crash into things for a bit as they learn, but they will get better. its normal i'd give it a few weeks before clipping them.

leon can be a brat with his wings though and fly off when he's not supposed to. i am not always in the room when they are out too. if they are clipped and they go on the floor they usually just hang out near the mirror i have down there until i put them on the tree again

then if its easier to live with clipped birds for you, then it might be best for your home

if only i could catch him...... i was "handling" butch a lot yesterday because i made him get on my finger twice (still dont know if that benefited him or not), bot times he tried to fly off but i caught him. one time he somehow got on the bottom edge of my comforter and he go his nails right through the fabric and he was at a weird angle, so i have to hold him and get his nails out and try not to twist his leg because he was hanging to oddly. after i put him on the tree, he was panting to much and i had to put him back in the cage and cover him for a few minutes. i was trying to find bird nail clippers in petsmart, but they didnt have any in the bird section except for huge dog nail clippers i am going to do butchs wings and hopefully nails by myself and then leon will be dont by someone else. i just wish i could catch him to clip his wings!!!!

you can use a nail file for birds' nails, it might be easier.
