yes it is 6/8ths of the flock out on the tree!
Bowie is the tree newbie. Bobby is also pretty new to coming out but he is getting better and would rather come out by himself, then getting on a perch to come out. I was sick of having bowie be the only one (in my room) in the cage while everyone was out on the tree. so i started training him. he was nervous stepping up on the perch and didn't want to eat millet as a reward. but i kept doing it even though he wasn't thrilled. then a few days ago i got him on the perch and rushed him out the big door (probably not the best plan) and he kept flying back and i eventually got him out. Bowie being new to training and coming out, flew out like a crazy bird and….sadly flew into my wall and fell behind my dresser. and there is no way of moving it with a fish tank on top and on the side. so i had to take a long dowel and shoo him out from underneath. luckily he was ok. he isn't the greets flier and i caught him and clipped 2 inner flight feathers to prevent any more high speed crashes. and i put him on the tree he was loved immediately by leon and Baby Bird. he got used to things and was pretty comfortable.
he is so pretty with his coloring.
all 6 of them!
Bowie not really enjoying Baby Bird's company
i always get pic with their eyes half closed
Bobby eventually joins. he is like his big bother and really loves him
yesterday bowie was out for the whole day and he is getting better. he came out much easier today he is definitely special needs with his weak foot (with a missing toe) and he is very weak at flying, which he will hope fully get some muscle once he gets used to everything and grows back the few feathers.
"cock-a-doodle-do!"
bobby grooming him. they spend all day grooming each other
puffing up to shake
at was trying to line them up for a flock picture but butch kept flying away so i did the best i could. it will be nice when the 2 new guys are trained
nap time with Bobby Bird
annnd…. for the heck of it…. Mr. Butch's back
