This happens on cleaning days when its warm outside. The birds love it.

His name is Chalkie. He came with it when I got him at 16 weeks old but I felt like I couldn't change it. He's a real sweetheart
I'll give you a few more cute videos. Here he is having a chat
(Note the garden is usually that full of weeds. It's all dandelion so I let it grow and give it the birds when it flowers haha)
Looking really confused about his snapple bottlecap hat!
My fiance just hanging out with him (he lets you give him head tickles sometimes... the bird that is!)

Those videos are extremely cute! His eyes are adorable. The bottle cap one was really cute when he was looking where it went.

I believe you, trust me. A hawk tried to have my cockatiels as a snack once. It was the smartest thing yet scariest. He hung out near the aviary for a while but he left after a month or two. I'm just glad my birds weren't hurt.

If it's a problem you have often you could double mesh the aviary, it works a charm! Before I had my raptors I had similar problems with sparrow hawks (bird table hunter so often seen in gardens) and put another layer of mesh between them and the birds

I agree. I used double wiring in my last aviary. Hawks don't come here often. I was just that one that found its way here.

A lot of the raptors you have in Florida would have been too big to think about going for the aviary and a lot of the broadwinged hawks won't bother with birds. I imagine it was either an American kestrel or a coopers hawk. You can buy dummy birds of prey like great horned owls and stick it on your aviary. No bird will mess with them then! It's how we used to scare cats off before I got Chalkie. Now he does all the scaring haha!
