Yes because they fight for nest boxes. And because George gets them first before any of the birds think about looking at that big scary thing.

Maybe if you just pair some up their instincts will kick in and they'll breed anyway? To be honest, I've had more success with my budgies letting them pick their own mates. They seem to breed more readily anyway. I have, however, found that sticking them together works too but they have to sort of 'bond' in the cage before the magic happens. At the end of the day, they're animals and their primary function is to reproduce

They just tried to mate! It wasn't successful because the female was perching on a flat surface and the male just got too excited and got on her. Now i know that they ARE interested in each other. The hen was in mating position.

Don't worry, I will definitely make a breeding diary for them. For now it's going to be 1 pair breeding at a time. I want to give the babies the most attention possible so they can be very friendly. I'll take photos daily as well! What do you mean by that?
