Its always a special moment when there is a thunderstorm outside and i bring Marshmallow inside the house so we can play together while we hear the thunder and the rain pour.
What do you guys like to do with your birds that really brings in that special moment?

I hand raised a cockatiel called Harvey. He was the only one I had successfully bred in years and the parents abandoned the nest so I was forced to feed him myself. I gave him to Jack as Jack's bird but he was loved by all of us. I just loved any time we spent with him. He would always want to be with you, always want scritches. You could rub his head for hours. He was a dream. I really wish people saw tiels like that and not just a 'beginners' bird or an 'undesirable' bird because they're not colourful enough. They're so over looked
I'll stick a video or two in for cuteness
I loved hanging out with Darwin when he was relaxed too
And with this guy, any moment was special! (ps.he ripped up half the books too without me noticing)

That sounds really special. I know Harvey, you took a really awesome photo of him ad used it for your avatar. I loved the eagle wings with him whistling. Do you still have him? Darwin is really cute with that tongue. And the Cockatoo...sneaky little buggar! All those videos of your birds are so awesome! Thanks for sharing.

I can't remember which photo that was, I have hundreds of him! He was one of the birds we lost in the gas leak. Just so it's clear in case anybody reading any of my posts is confused. I lost Harvey (cockatiel), Clyde (orange winged Amazon parrot), Sampson (Alexandrine parakeet), Perry (green cheek conure) and all of my lories and lorikeets. The cockatoo went back to the rescue as I felt he was safer and they wanted to get him to the vets for poisoning immediately. I have had plenty of other birds pass away too as I have dealt with psittacosis worming it's way in twice, which I lost a lot of my outdoor cockatiel flock to and the second time I lost my budgie Morris, my green cheek x maroon bellied conure and 4 of my black cheeked lovebirds who had just come out of quarantine. It was the Hahn's macaws I fostered who had bought it in the second time around. The problem is, because I have such a large collection, I lose birds more often than other people would. Not necessarily indoor birds, but aviary birds (namely the budgies) I do lose on occasion and while it is very sad it's something I've had to learn to deal with. They live outdoors with the opportunity to come inside. Even when the weather is at its worse they will not come inside. They come in to eat and go out again. I like to give them the choice. So yeah, that's why I no longer have a lot of the birds I speak about. Just thought I'd throw it all out in the open because if you haven't known me from the beginning so to speak then it can be confusing as to who is who NO problem at all. I love sharing photos and videos of my birds, even if they are older ones As long as that's okay with you guys? It would be nice to share photos of the birds I have lost. I didn't want it to be upsetting to anybody though

Thanks for letting us know the story of your birds. Don't worry about that at all. The real question is if its okay with you. I wanted to mention Harvey in an earlier thread here but i didn't because it didn't want to remind you of it and make you feel worse. I personally love hearing stories and seeing pictures and videos of your birds. Please don't worry about getting us upset. I won't ever be upset about seeing pics and stories of your birdies.

Awh okay thank you I might make some threads like Remembering Harvey etc. so everybody can see the nice photos I had of them all. It does upset me, after all, they were my family. I do find though that sharing their stories and photos help a lot
