Maya getting head scratches (253 views)

Maya never liked getting head scratches in the aviary. She only likes it inside the house but recently, I got her to like it in the aviary. Here is a video.

She is so sweet! Did she come with clipped wings or did you clip her? Just curious as she's living in an aviary haha

I actually clipped her myself because I wanted to tame her. I'm eagerly waiting for them to grow back. She will stay fully flighted. My work with taming her is done.

Ah okay! Just wondering. Was she in a cage beforehand then ?

No, she was in the aviary. She was in a cage at the pet shop though.

Did you not worry about her falling at all in the aviary? I had to rehome a budgie that could never fly who was living in my aviary because no matter how I adapted it she just kept falling and there was no way to make it 100% safe for her. I felt really bad but at the time I wasn't able to have any more birds in the house while living at home so converting a cage for her wasn't possible. Your aviary looks like it has plenty of ways to get around so I'm assuming she's done okay?

Maya has very good flying skills. She never fell on the floor. She can fly really well even with clippped wings.
