Okay, so maybe I take back what I said about snake racks. I said that Medusa didn't seem like she would like them. She is too mobile. I got her a brilliant hide 2 weeks ago and she hasn't come out of it since then. She really loves it. And that got me thinking about snake racks again. Perhaps she would like a rack. I still handle her frequently, and I would if she was in a rack too, so I got to looking and I found a decent one: www.reptilebasics.com/iris-cb-70-rackGood size for me, since I don't really want a big collection.

It would be sooooo much cheaper to just make one! You can get small shelving or book cases, get locking tubs and mats on thermostats. Mine is home made and I can have two snakes per shelf, it's got 5 shelves so that's like 10 haha. Honestly, save a bit of money!
My royal and hybrid do well in a tub. They legit don't move all day from one spot

However, this comes fully assembled, with heat tape installed. I honestly have no clue how to do that. Plus shipping is free.

My concern is that for that price it's a lot if it doesn't come with a thermostat. I know it has the heat tape, but it doesn't mention a stat. If it does, GREAT haha, I would just be annoyed personally if it didn't because those are the most expensive bit!

No, it doesn't. The thermostat is pretty costly.

I have a photo from the end of the last year, so it has changed quite a lot. I've also got a 6 foot tall x 4 foot wide x 2 foot deep vivarium in my living room for my carpet python and an exo terra on a stand on the other side for my sunbeam snake. The rack is more full now. More climbing stuff in the middle viv and I got rid of the big water bowl for my boa as he kept flipping it daily. I've put artificial grass in the bottom viv. Each individual vivarium and level of the rack has it's own stat. I know it's nothing spectacular but it's only temporary. I have a load of vivs n things in my basement too that are just empty. When we move I'll be able to finally have my custom made vivs (probably home made by my uncle who is a carpenter but still haha) eventually rather than vivs of all different shapes, colours and sizes haha I can't stop laughing at how small that hook is. I have a really big heavy duty one now that I got with the carpet python and it doesn't even compare!

I wouldn't mind some of those stacking tanks. Do they hold up against moisture?

They're not really for stacking as they're all different sizes but I make them stack haha. That's why I'm having all of mine built as one big unit in the near future so they won't be all bits and bobs. I can't wait to get the new set up going. Mine looks so boring. As for moisture, humidity for royals isn't the highest anyway, I use an exo terra for my sunbeam snake for better ventilation but royals do well in vivariums. The ONLY issue I have had, which is why I got rid of the big bowl, is that my boa kept flipping a LOT of water on to the floor of her vivarium which cause a slight warping. This is a 10+ snake with a heck of a lot of strength in it. I wouldn't expect something like that to happen with yours They'e also a lot cheaper to buy I believe
