Hello. My name is Lupo. I do not like giving my real name out so I just uses nicknames. Haha. I'm 17 and I have one bird. His name is Kiko he's a Chestnut-fronted macaw also known as a severe macaw. I've had him for almost 5 years now. I got him when I was 12. He's been in my life ever since then.
When I got him it was one of those moments where the bird pick his owner. I was originally looking for a Scarlet macaw, but when I walked pasted his cage he flew on my shoulder. What was weird is that was his first time flying. He flew on my shoulder and when I tried putting him back he would not get off. He started to purr like a cat and I said "Thats it I'm taking him". When people first see me and him they don't think that there is a bond there, but there is. Our bond is so strong. I had to leave about 4 weeks ago to go out of town for 2 weeks. And my dad said he was restless. Because that was my first time leaving him in 5 years.
I like to school people on keeping a bird, because Kiko was not my first bird. I had 6 love birds and 2 parakeets. But sadly they all died of old age. I rescued them from a home where the owner never cleaned their cage and they all got very sick. The animal shelter was going to put them down because they were old and sick. And I was volunteering there at the time, so I said I would take them in and let them be comfortable for their last months.
