Long story here. I'm going to skip it. But basically, meet my dream bird, Danny. If any of you have known me long enough, you know that I was more or less borderline obsessed with these birds. Well, I welcomed Danny into my flock yesterday. There is a LOT behind this story, 4 years in the making, so sorry if I'm being vague. I just don't know how to type 4 years worth of material here. I'm not sure what sex Danny is at the moment, so I'm just going to refer to Danny as a he. Here he is: Foot. He is a very shy bird, but he trusts me. He needs to warm up to you first. His cage is in my room so he can get used to me. He flutters over to my bed to play with me (and bite!). He's at the beaky stage right now, so... fun. He is a very calm bird. Very calm. And very quiet at the moment. He makes the most adorable little sounds. He sounds so parroty. Like a macaw almost. I'm working on his step ups. He's not afraid of me at all, he just doesn't understand what I'm asking. He's done it 4 times so far (3 on the hand, 1 on a perch). He's getting there. Also, I need to wean him to accept pellets. For whatever reason, the bird store I got him from didn't bother. :-/ I need to get him eating fruit and vegetables too. But otherwise, he is an awesome bird with a lot of potential. Every time I have him on me, scratching his head, I can't believe I actually own my dream bird. It's crazy.

Oooo exciting! I love blue crowned conures, they are very 'big bird' like in their mannerisms. Not that they're that small in terms of conures though haha. He's gorgeous Congratulations! I had the most success with my conures eating chop, they seem to take to it really well. If you do want to feed pellets but he's not interested I recommend the Harrison's mash as you can sprinkle it in chop and they have no idea they're eating it
