I love taking in rescue birds! Watching them change is absolutely amazing.

It's wonderful isn't it? Except for birds I have bred myself, all of mine are rehomes of various ages and species haha. A lot of them have been given to me. It seems conflicting to breed and rehome/rescue I guess but there's a way of doing it and some would say it is a natural enrichment for birds to breed. I wouldn't be one of 'those guys' who goes around asking for free birds just to get free breeders that they dispose of when they're done with them. I wouldn't make my birds breed either. They choose their mates and I let them get on with it. The only birds I'm careful about are my budgies because they think it's perfectly acceptable to mate with a relative and I certainly don't haha! I'll have to post photos and videos etc. of my old flock (I'm sure I have mentioned them all before, I had a gas leak) and show you some of the progress that they had made. The best luck I ever had and the most encouraging story was Clyde, an orange winged Amazon I had. He had 5 homes in 2 months, was only £150 after being passed around and had plucking and screaming issues. He will always be one of my favourite birds. He went from phobic, aggressive and distressed to being so happy! He stopped plucking almost immediately and never had to go in his cage. He was the funnest bird to have around. I'd have another in a heart beat
