so now lenny is fine with getting on the perch and having me take him just out side the cage door. i am now tying to get him used to the perch that he will be eventually sitting on. i got him to reach over and eat millet but he would not go on the perch and freaked out and flew back. i, of course, am going to go at his and butch's pace. i am training butch for turn around because he always sits with his back facing me (a habit formed before the shelter and my house). and when i had pumble i used that command a lot along with "over" so they will move over. i am so excited and cant wait until they come out!!!

congrats it sounds like you are making some progress! it took me over a year to get munch to form some sort of mutual bond with to the point where i now consider her mostly tame

it is amazing how long it takes to tame a bird compared to other animals, but the result is a best friend!! my evidence: Pumble, 6-7 months of training and i got the best friend in the world! i still am not over the fact that he is gone. there are days i still have to stop myself from crying or when i am training the fids i accidently call one Pumble

I'm happy to read that lenny and butch are improving day by day; You have to insist; the key is to have a lot of patience to earn their trust, but I know that you already know it ..
