Rough molt or plucking? (308 views)

Munch molts pretty rough... she gets patchy looking... it seems normal, but lately ive noticed she has a feather in her beak.... but the question is, is it just from preening herself or is she plucking them?


she has some patches on her currently and 3 of our birds are in a heavy molt where theyre dropping several feathers a day. in a few weeks munch looks back to normal again, but when shes "molting" she looks the worst and seems to be more excessive.

I bet it is just her molting...feathers fall out more easily when they're molting, so she may just be getting feathers on her break while preening.
