the new toy:
for the last few days i have been trying to think of what kind of toy to make with a paper egg carton. i was thinking of making a 'millet dispenser' where i take one of the pointy parts of the carton and flip it upside down ( like this toy is) and putting small millet chunks in it so the fids can eat/ pull them out of the bottom, revealing another piece. but i had no good plan for attaching a lid on the top, so i just though of the toy below! i took one of the cone pieces and put a square piece half way down so i dont use that much millet, and to make it more interesting i put a piece on top with a hole to make hem work for it then the millet on the top is gone.
here is it before the millet:
(there i a second cone piece on the bottom because i made a big hole in the first one so i covered it with the second one)
filled with millet:
this was a fraction of the loose millet on the bottom of the bag.
lenny was so obsessive over this after i put it in. i tried to take it out for pictures and he didnt want to leave. i covered it with my fingers and he still was trying to get it!
and here is a pic of my Butch-Butch! eye pinning of course!
(please exuse the white poopy stain on the perch, i hadent goten the chance to sand it off lately
the training: Lenny
well lenny is getting better. i put a perch on top of the cage today and because of it he was better at coming on the perch. i got him on the window sill and his "tree"perch that i made and will have to take a pic of. i hope he will behave on the window because before i was going to bring him back to the top of the cage, he did a "ninja move" and jumped onto the window screen :-X. after posting he will come out again!
the training: Butch
i worked with butch while lenny was out. i got him to put one foot on the perch and then at one point her put 2 on, and walked away . then i got him to put 2 feet on a second time ( a little later) and i moved the perch up about a cm (woo-hoo ;D) not that amazing but at least we are getting some where!
