so just now in my room i was doing a small in the cage session with the fids. lenny gets on the perch and gets off. butch gets one foot on the perch get off while not missing a beat with his eye pinning. after a while i test something with butch. i switch my the perch with my finger. of course butch is so into his eye pinning that he still put is foot on my finger! ;D he does it several times and i try tempting lenny to do it with a huge chunk of millet he really wants to but is unsure. i do it with butch again several times as lenny watched, he was still unsure. i think deep down butch is not afraid of me. i think he is afraid of being grabbed (past home life maybe??) it was so nice to have that soft, warm little foot holding onto my finger. when you have been with out that contact between human and bird (and with out a close bond to a bird) for so long, there is a hole in your heart that appears. butch filled a little of that hole today goodness.. my eyes are getting watery

i think butch will be the "pumble" of the 2. today i am going to get their nails and lennys wings clipped. do you think it would be a good idea to bring the 2nd cage so when she clips lenny she can just put him in his new cage and it is over with? i think that would be easer than me trying to do it. then all lenny could think of is me doing it if i ever did it : (

the lady is now coming only every other sunday when it used to be every sunday, and usually we call first but i said not to because shes there every sunday and we went there and she wasnt there so the bird took a long car ride for nothing... next week on a HUGE good note: LENNY STEPPED ONTO MY FINGER JUST NOW!!!!!! this morning he put on foot on after watching butch enough and just now i got him to step up completely!!!! i am so proud of him. it is nice to fell his feet on my finger again and its nice to see him not afraid when getting on

he did it again this morning. he is hesitant at first but the once he gets on about 2 times he will come right on. its funny to see him the first times, because he uses one foot to make sure my finger is safe and he touches my finger many times like it hot, its so cute! he was on my finger once and butch looked at him eating millet and the butch turned around and just started screaming like "ARE YOU CRAZY!!" he wont put his foot on my finger any more. then i ended the session and closed the cage and lenny pushed butch off the perch
