Collecting the debris is good since paper shredding is nesting behavior. If it's needed for hormone control, you can take the paper out completely and let her poop on the bare tray. I've never done this, but the people who have say it's not that bad. Instead of changing the paper you take the tray out and wash it.

these trays are a pain to scrub if poop stays on them. its the type of plastic for some reason it likes poop lol
i remove the nesting material. ive heard of people doing that each day and its worked for them. she gets to shred all she wants, but she cant build a nest. and i get craft material out of it LOL shes gotta be the only one i know to pull paper out from under the grate

Craft material with lovebird poop in it? Eww.
I have several cockatiels who like to pull paper up from under the grate. With some of the cages the trays are too deep for them, but I'm surprised at how far down they can reach in other cases.
