i have a few tips for people that own african grey parrots
no matter what kind of grey you own ( Congo or Timneh ) they both have the same way of learning how to speak or imitate sounds.
so here are a few things you need to keep in mind if you want to teach your grey to talk:
1- be patient.
2- try to get closer to your grey let him trust you.
3- birds in general respond to things or sounds that are passionate/emotional, so when you speak to your bird make sure its in a passionate/emotional tone.
4- greys start talking at the age of 1-2 years old, they usually imitate the sound of the word then you'll be able to hear them actually pronouncing the word.
5- try to to motivate them while speaking or talking to them thats when they get excited and start learning more its like a motivation.
6- dont forget the treats, its another way of motivation.
remember not to swear infront of a grey , people usually swear with emotion and emotion like noted above is very catchy to most birds, so you dont want your birds to be swearing when you have guests around your house
