Flying is good! My quaker is always very lazy to fly- I have to encourage him everyday. Glad to see yours is flying

Mr Quaker he is actually very nervous when he's away from his cage so he spent most of his time on top of the cage; that is where he is comfident and can be himself. Everyday I perch him on my finger and I get him to fly back to his cage to do his flight excercise. He's on sunflower seed so the excercise is a must, they tend to get obese otherwise.

have you tried building him a playgym for the top of the cage and making it a little difficult for him to climb it a bit? might help that way too

He has got a playgym. He does climb now and again but not keen on that either. He is opposite to every other quakers- other quakers I saw are very active but mr quaker is only interested sitting on top of the cage all day long protecting his food bowl and the cage- this is what he's used to when I adobted him. He doesn't like changes- very stubborn to his old ways. I have placed the playgym on top of the cage before but he just ended sitting on one spot protecting that too. He is getting a little better now though after many months of training- he is now more willing to excercise his wings, I can call him to fly from the top of the cage to the playgym which is placed at the opposite side of the room and from playgym back to the cage top- he seemed to like that.
