so as i have posted many times, butch will only put one foot in the training perch- 2 feet only in the beginning and only one time. well, today i was training him and he put 2 feet on the first time and 2 feet on all the times after that!! i am so proud of him i truly believe lenny gave him the confidence because yesterday i took lenny out of the cage and worked with him and stood there with him on my finger several times until he was pretty comfortable with me. after our training session, i put their 2 cages side by side so they can see each other. then today butch is acting like a pro with getting on the perch

they might take more confidence in taming when they are together

i do realize this but my few is that one might fly out when i am training because i have the big doors. and if butch flew out and went on lennys cage and i had to grab him, that would ruin the training because it take like 2 weeks for him to trust you again and i dont want to take the chance after getting this far (2 feet) in his training. i will eventually train together though when lenny is bonded with me

oh its fine, im thinking maybe keep cages together, but keep one caged while you work with one. is that a possibility? sounds a bit like they do enjoy the company and get a bit more confidence together too

that is what i meant ;D if i put the cages side by side they will go over to see each other. my fear is that one will not want to be trained and just wants to see the other, has a fit, and flies out of the cage. and i don't take them out in my room yet so there is not muck to land on. they usually cling onto some posters that are just held on my tape if they clung to to other cage, i would have to grab them to put them back, which would make both of them nervous, especially butch due to his pre shelter abuse. so what i am saying is that it will be risky. i do understand you point of view though:) when lenny i trained and bonded (when i can take him out with ease and he can come out all day) i will probably put them together again 24/7 or just for the day so butch can see lenny come to me etc. them when they are both trained i plant to put the cages together. the way the cages come apart, it would allow me to make roughly a 38L X 16W X 22H (inches) which i s pretty big cage! then they can have a lot more stuff in there
