This chart here is generalized only, some individuals may vary above or below normal. In general, this chart should help potential new owners decide if the noise level of a potential bird suits their living situations. Not ALL species are listed, but the more general ones are. If unsure of your species and it is not on the list, please ask we will be glad to help you find where your bird fits!
Quiet (Good for apartments with little to no complaints)
Doves Finches Canaries Weavers Sparrows Starlings Budgerigars (can be chatty, but quiet voice) Cockatiels (males can whistle, both genders have a shrill flock call) Lovebirds (can be chatty) Parrotlets (can be chatty) Lineoleated parakeets Grass Parakeets
Fairly Quiet (Minimal complaint in apartment homes, but can be loud)
Most Pyrrhura Conures (green cheek, maroon bellied, black capped, etc) Poicephalus Parrots (Senegals, red bellies, brown heads, etc) Pionus
Moderate to Loud (Not suitable for apartment living, better for houses or maybe some townhouses with good walls)
Quaker Parrots Indian Ringneck Parakeet Alexandrian Parakeets African Grey Mini Macaws Amazon parrots Lorikeets Hawk Headed Parrots Caiques
VERY Loud (Suitable for single houses, better if farther apart from neighbours)
Cockatoos Large Macaws Aratinga Conures (Suns, Nanday, Jenday, etc) Eclectus Parrots

i have an african grey and i live in an apartment on the 3rd floor i can her whistling all the way dooooown lol but nobody complains i have dead neighbours haha

LOOOOL nah their just super weird ! i only see some of them when im going to work in the morning and thats it ! their like ghosts really hahah they freak me out i make no contact with them what so ever !

it took a few months before we actually seen any evidence that someone lives across the hall from us lol the landlord said someone lived there but we never saw them
