they wont touch their veggies lately. ive been giving them mash for breakfast, and do you think they would touch it? no not except a few bits of corn lol ah theyre weirdos. oh well, i can keep trying, maybe someday they will love the mash, right? the lovebirds go nuts for it, theyre such good eaters. the tiels, nope just their seeds and pellets thats all they want. they still get veggies, but most goes to waste. and this is why owning birds can be expensive

Don't count on it. I don't even bother offering mash to my guys any more because they're so good at ignoring it. They're good about eating certain veggies and they like sprouts, but otherwise they mostly hate moist foods. Lovies like wet food so it's much easier to persuade them.

haha well my tiels love scrambled egg, rice, and pasta, but those are rare treats and because of the pellets, egg is very very rare (though if i make hard boiled egg for the lovies i do give the tiels a small amount of the white part). oh well, got tsuka to try pineapple today. he didnt know what to think of it. paced, licked it, walked away, paced, went back and licked it again. over and over again LOL but its showing he liked the taste at least if he kept trying it lol

My birds used to like dried pineapple but it's hard to find and I haven't bought any in years. I've never tried making it myself - they didn't like it THAT much.

i can buy it at our bulk food store. i could buy dried fruits of all sorts. but i usually get them papaya. cheapest. dried blueberries are enough to scare me, the price lol dried kiwi is just as bad there.
they like dried papaya, dried pineapple, dried cranberries, raisons, dried apples, dried kiwi, and freeze dried raspberries. so they really like any dried fruit i give them. i often buy a bag of mixed tropical dried fruit at the grocery store for them or a pack of craisons lol

Dried kiwi is very easy to make yourself but you have to have a dehydrator. A cheapie can be bought for under $40 (US) on Amazon.com with free shipping, so they're not horrifically expensive. I can't remember if I ever tried drying blueberries. Whole berries take forever to dry but splitting them in half first would speed up the process, and the question is whether they would come out with a reasonable texture or be hard as a rock. Some foods dehydrate better than others!

I know this is kinda old but wandering if you think the tiels would like craisins? Hubby bought a bag and I don't eat them, so they're just kinda sitting there....?
