I know that the little brand thingy on their leg is so breeders can identify them, but can I still get one for Mouse? So that if, knock on wood it doesn't happen, but if he were to get out, whoever found him could track him back to me? Kind of like a microchip for dogs. I know, weird question, lol. Thanks.

bands are normally put on birds when still chicks as they can be slipped onto the foot. but you cant put closed bands on adult birds. there are split bands, but they can be dangerous and i dont recommend them. split bands can catch on cages and hang a bird. it's possible to microchip birds, but not sure how many vets will microchip a tiel. also, split bands can be removed from the bird, so they are useless if a bird escapes. someone can just take it off.

Aww, well. Then I'll just have to continue to be super duper careful. Thanks for the info, Casey.
