some birds are just bigger than others. look at all 4 of my birds. dally and tsuka are fairly large for tiels, both over 100 grams in weight. but also much bigger than others ive seen in length. my friend has a female cinnamon pied and she is much longer than both my birds. but her male is a bit smaller than dally. it's just how they are. then there is mango and munch. munch is huge for a lovebird, at 65 grams. lovebirds normally are 45-50 grams, so she is quite large. mango is only 50 grams at most and he is dainty. yet he and munch are siblings from the same clutch--in fact, mango is the older sibling! so size often is an individual trait more than anything genetics have a good part to play as certain mutations can be smaller than others in some birds, and breeding poorly can cause smaller birds.

wow... luckily lenny never did that with butch. he just likes to sit where he is sitting yesterday, after a long few days with out training, i took lenny out to see butch and i used a whole millet spray to temp him and he cam on my shoulder 3 times! the first 2 times i came off by my finger but the last time he flew off because butch was yelling he still loves waving to me
