..one giant step for lenny's kind!!! slowly but surly lenny is getting better. lenny has come on my shoulder 3 times now, but has failed to come on my finger to get off and instead flies off. with time, that will be fixed. i know from the pictures that he is nervous, mostly because it is new and we were in front of a mirror, which he is not used to yet he cam out alone today and he was very good and came on my shoulder 2 times (the 2nd and 3rd time total). all the pics are from today hanging out while i do homework ok these pics are bad but i wanted to get some pics of him on my shoulder today he is hard to see, but he is on my shoulder oh and butch "came out" the other day for like 5 minutes his idea of coming out to see lenny..

he is pretty fine with being up there, not totally comfortable though. he was more nervous in front of the mirror and he did fly off (he is still learning that he has to come on my finger to get off) and her landed on top of the towel on my tanks (the one in the mirror) and i got him on a perch and showed him the mirror and put one end of the perch near it and i could feel him leaning a little towards the mirror when i moved him, but he doesn't have that much interest in it. yesterday i brought both to get the wings and nails clipped so there wont be much flying. not lenny has cute baby wings ;D did you get my PM?

well if lenny was bonded to me and didnt need the occasional training in between homework subjects, then i would have him out all the time. i am thinking about taking him out solo for a while and see what happens with bonding. lately he has been bad about staying on the loom perch (the one in the pics) when it is on top of the cages, which it always is on top. he was hiding in the middle of it and he flew off once, with clipped wings, and other times he climbs down but not necessarily to see butch. on the other hand, i have no clue what to do with butch i cant decide if i want to bond with lenny and just take them both out and have butch be semi wild (with me still training of course) or to continue doing what i am doing and training butch solo and then taking lenny out on his cage and train him there. even with lenny doing repeated tricks in front of him, he doesnt progress in his training.

some birds just arent people birds. mango is like that. he lets us handle him when he feels like it. other than that, he prefers us just talking to him. he's happy that way. he's just more bird oriented.
