im worried about munch
behaviourally and emotionally rather than health though
i think she may have become cage bound
and its kinda my fault
she had been nesty since october, and still is to a small extent. shes easily triggered still, and being let out with mango triggered her the worst
she had not been let out since october because first she was looking for nests out of the cage. so we reduced it, but then she kept mating with mango which made it worse
then she started showing signs of laying so we didnt want her breaking any eggs. so we confined her to the cage....
then she just laid for a whole month or so back and forth
so again, worried about breaking eggs.
then it stopped, but any time we let her out with mango, she would mate with him and it would escalate to her becoming broody in the cage corners and such...
so now, we let mango out with the tiels and her by herself.
but she calls and calls and calls and calls
and keeps trying to go back IN her cage
she seems MISERABLE out of the cage
she goes back in her cage and shes back happily playing with her toys and preening and beating up her bell and talking to her mirror
open her cage doors and she doesnt want to come out
i have to take her out, and then she sits on the playgym and calls and calls and calls.... and tries to fly back to her cage, which she is starting to grow her flights out but she still cant reach it
shes perfectly happy inside of her cage
so im worried
mango is more than content to come out with the tiels, in fact he WANTS to come out. not munch, she just calls and calls and tries to go back in.
and she wont shut up until shes put back in her cage
am i a bad owner if i let her stay in her cage, if that is where she wants to stay? i am so confused. she likes her cage a lot, but she shouldnt have to stay locked up.... but she doesnt want to come out
