First off, Welcome to Feather Talk!
Our goal here is to be a welcoming community to all bird lovers. We wish to be a warm and understanding place for bird lovers to come and share their stories, photos, laughs, sadness, experience, and advice in an accepting environment without fear of being put down or being shunned. We offer advice to those who need it and ask for it.
We are a bully free zone, and any bullying, trolling, or blatant disrespect to one another will NOT be tolerated. We have seen too many forums turn ugly from these unwanted behaviours and our goal is to paint bird forums with better colours. We wish to give refuge to those who are mistreated elsewhere, knowing they will be safe here from being ridiculed. Not everyone has the money all the time to do the things they need to, and sometimes people need to be more empathetic towards others. People fall on hard times, and we wish to offer advice and help to those who need it during those times.
We wish to educate those on better bird care while at the same time having empathy for the difficult situations. We care about our members here and we are not just a forum--we are a community.
We want to have fun and include everyone. Feel free to join in the forum fun! We have contests, we have many many threads of toy ideas and cage ideas! You can enjoy the forum as much as you like, as long as you respect everyone and try to put yourself in another's shoes when they need it.
Our stance on breeding is neutral. We wish to educate better breeding practices. We are welcoming to responsible breeders and we will help educate those interested in breeding. Rescuing is an excellent choice for anyone and it's always great to give a bird a good home. We do not judge where you get a bird, as all birds are in need of a home no matter how you look at it. Petstore, breeder, rescue, or rehome, all are welcome here and feel free to post comfortably in a no-judge zone about them!
