It's hard to understand if it really is a disease or not; In Italy, the experts state that it is a proven disease but I want to believe it is simply a mutation. However, mutation or desease, it certainly decreases the lifespan.

Could it be that it was so inbred to get the color that it shortened the lifespan?

the colour randomly pops up, and mostly it affects lutinos. so i dont think people have really bred for it purposely. its strange and controversial
