but they were.... i went to the petstore the other day (with the worst animal care EVER, the store i reported..) and i saw that they are now selling green IRNs i was like 'nooooooo'. their parrot cages are visually disgusting. every parrot has ONE (1) chewed up ladder, which is usually crooked btw... and if they are lucky they get ONE other perch. toys are very minimal (like they get ONE) and it is usually in the middle if the cage far away from the ladder almost in an untouchable place. their water is always gross... and there is so much more... and when i emailed them they lied to me > but my underlying point is that they shouldnt have parrots and especially IRNs.... or the poor conures.....or even the tiels and linnies....or the keets (which there was a dead one once. HOW DO YOU NOT NOTICE A DEAD BIRD?!?!??!!

yeah petstores like that make me sad, and i refuse to shop at them. i'll shop at good petstores, like my local petstore i always shop at. its awesome.
unfortunately, there isnt much you can do, if you already reported them. unfortunately with chain stores, it depends wholly on their staff who cares for the animals... most really dont know what really IS good care. then you get some that do a great job. our big chain petstores in my city actually arent very good either, but they're better than one of our local ones... i wont go there though... its a horror story.

its sad really. when i emailed this loooooong decription of the stores animals the lady just emaild back like 'well we have our employees check on the animals ever hour and we inform out staff on how to properly care for the animals and we care a lot.." or some thing like that. um..yeah.. ther people there are morons the stupid "fish specialist" (i and my fish keeping neighbor both have had bad experiences with him) said that i need to put my 3 1 inch fantail goldfish in a 75 gallon tank! do you realize how big a 75gal is?? for 3 tiny goldies...

i much prefer the good petstores for obvious reasons. i have one, its a great little spot. they are knowledgeable too and have refused to sell animals if they dont believe the person would be a good owner
