Young budgies are a little hard to sex but it is able to be done!! Young males will start off with purple-pink ceres. Females will have light blue ceres with white circles around the nostrils Adult male budgies will have deep blue ceres, but lutino, albino, and clear pied will have purple-pink ceres their whole life. Adult females will get a tan cere, which can be light or dark. This happens when the female is in breeding condition. If your bird was a MALE and its cere turns brown, please see your vet as this can mean cancer in male budgies! Hope this helps
