that's great news  i'm glad he is starting to come out of his shell. he has the temperament of an older bird, so he may not take to change easily. but i'm rooting for Butch |

now when i take leon out and i take butchs cage down from the hook, he jumps on the side of his cage and waits for me to put the perch in and i just have to press it against him a little and get jets on. putting him back is getting better. i think his nervousness is wareing off on leon because now leon jumps away from me when i try to put him back -__- that is until i get him toy out, then he is glued to me |

using the toy is a good idea though, it's like when you bribe birds with millet to earn their trust. only instead of millet, you are using a favourite toy. but at the same time, butch is starting to be a bit calmer, so leon's tameness must be wearing off on him too |

today i was putting butch back and i was trying to get him on the perch and he actually jumps on the branch part of the tree! he is scared of it and stays on the dowel and rope... he must be getting braver  he still doesnt like the fleece wrapped perch because when i put him on there he flaps his wings and tried to fly off like its hot  |

its so similar to the rope perch though maybe i will put a fleece covered perch in his cage! |

i'd put it somewhere he wont freak out first though, so dont put it where he eats or drinks in case he is too scared to use it there.
