i would just like to make a picture thread showing the great changes on my bird care over the 2 years i have had butch and the few months i have had leon. leon is bonding to me and i am looking back at the past and how things have changed for the better. i am very proud of the improvements over the years and i hope everyone is always improving their care and thinking of new ways to make their fids lives better 
this will just be before and after pics of how things have changed
Before: Butch, a scared budgie who was always going back to square one in his training and who was always cage bound because of it. i knew that he would never be 'tamed' but i knew when the time was right he would come out of the cage to play and be semi wild
After: Butch, now a semi tame budgie, who will come over to me and get on a perch willingly when he flies to the floor by accident and who now cant wait to get on a perch to come out and play. though he is still nervous and avoids human contact, he has turned out to be a fun character!

Before: Leon, once tamed in his old home, was scared and untamed when he come to me. he only had 3 toys, but he was playful and full of potential!
After: Leon, now full of love and has a cage full of toys! he has started to bond to me and loves giving kisses. when i walk in the room he will jump on the side of his cage to be let out- and once he's out, butch does the same and they LOVE playing together! he is brave now and loves attention

Before: my idea of a tree for the fids to play on
After: now that tree is in the big tree and because one tree want enough, i made a second tree. and because 2 trees inst enough, i am making a table top tree; and because 2 trees and a little tree arent enough, i am making plans for a hanging play gym!

Before: i used to get toys from the store....
After:... Then i realized that making toys was better and so i made lots and lots of toys made just for the fids... and there is more that just whats in my closet!
some other things that have changed are:
- i have included pellets in their diet
- i clean cages daily (or every other day depending on how much they are out) rather than weekly
- i vacuum my room nearly every other day to keep my floors clean
- i now take the cage bottoms off to wash when they get really dirty, before i couldnt because no one could come out
- and last but not least... i love my birds more than ever and i let them out as often and for as long as i can
i am very proud of myself for making a difference for my birds

butch and leon are so lucky to have you, and lenny and pumble were lucky to have you as well when you had them. the best owners arent those who buy the best, but are the owners who do their best to make their fids happy and healthy
