pickles is slightly perch tamed. she doesn't really like getting on the perch, but she is tame enough to take out. recently, i started taking her out. i stopped for a while because i had trouble getting her back.
this weekend, we started with a clean slate. saturday, i grabbed her and clipped her wings (as she gets more tame i will let them grow out) and i put her on the tree with leon and butch. she was nervous at first; leon loved getting in everyones face and he doesn't know when to stop. she loved hopping around and going on the window gym she spent a few hours out and i put her back before it got dark (and so butch could spend time with only leon).
today, i got her on the perch to come out, she wasnt crazy about the idea :roll eyes: she was less nervous today. leon was so happy and was overwhelming her (he is such a bad egg!). luckily Pickles will stand up for herself and peck at him when he gets to attached to her. her and butch don't get along. they will sit next to each other but they don't get close or else they will fight. i think she knows butch is 'special' and butch doesn't like how leon ignores him when she is out. she came out twice today and i got some pics of the 3 munchkins on the tree!
her and butch aren't really good friends yet
the second time she came out, leon left her alone after a while. everyone was preening, which i took as a sign that everyone was relaxed
Butch and Pickles tolerating each others company
finally leon leaves pickles completely alone, letting her get her quick nap in
though it gets dark out fast when i come home from school, i am going to try and take her out every day so she can come out on a regular basis. with her being new to coming out and going back, i don't want to leave her out when my room is dark (i only have fish tanks and a string of christmas lights to light up my room, no room for a lamp!)
