once again i took a lot of pics of the flock
it has been a busy few days, mostly consisting of wing clips and nail clipping (which i am starting to get the hang of!). and i have been switching who is in which cage since i got a nice flight cage
ok now for the pics!
Leon being a little Egg in the tree!
baby bird and butch
Butch… who wasn't too happy with the camera in his face…
the other 4. i have no clue what Mrs. Pickles is doing….i think she is reaching for poop
she is so weird..
and the 2 favorites! Bowie grooming bobby. bowies colors are fantastic with the flash
i finally clipped bobbys nails so they aren't so long.
i still haven't figured out bowie, he never shows any emotions. usually the other will fluff up their head or move a certain way, but bowie doesn't do that. i think that and his handicapped foot makes him the weakest of the flock (and usually Pickles victim- Bad Pickle!)
and i can't decide whether Baby Bird is a male or female. sometimes her nose is whitish and other times it looks more blue!
lets just say that Leon looks a little odd in this pic
and then the elusive Ace and Leo, my newest rescues. they are still pretty scared. yesterday i moved them into baby and Pickles cage and then baby and pickle got the new (GIANT) cage. i feel bad downsizing ace and leo into a smaller cage, but it will be easier to tame them. i was working with them today and they are doing good so far. there is still much work to be done
i clipped their wings when i switched them. i found out that Ace loves to clamp down right between my thumb and index finger. i was fine at first and then it really started hurting and i had to slowly pull my hand out of his beak! leo didn't bite but he did slip our of my hand and got a tiny amount of time on the tree before i caught him and clipped him.
then leon, baby and pickles wanted to say hi to them
Baby Bird and Ace seemed to like each other
this is the new 30x18x18 cage i got. baby bird and pickles are in it now. i put leon in there with them for a little bit after everyone went back and i tried putting butch in there, but pickles hates butch and butch doesn't like being housed with anyone, so he went back to his own cage. in the future (after Ace and leo are tame) i hope to get another one of these cages and house ace, leo, pickles, and baby bird in one and bobby, bowie, butch, and leon in the other
or i might just combine 2 cages and use that rather than buying another cage. this one i have 3 cages combined, but i would just do 2 to make a 38x18x16.
