Hey guys! As you're probably guessing from this thread, I'm a newbie around here. Not new to forums so a few of you probably know me already I keep a variety of birds and the majority are in outdoor aviaries. I breed various species too (though I no longer hand raise) and I'm sure that I will be sharing cute baby photos for you all in the next upcoming months once the weather gets better I lost my companion parrots in Autumn of 2013 due to gas leaking. I had also lost a few small furries to the same thing Because of this, I lost a lot of passion for my birds and I decided to avoid forums as much as possible. I realised that this is something I've been passionate about all my life and I can't let something like that put me off forever, hence why I'm here! I have gotten my spark back and I'm proud of that. I can't wait to show you all my flock! Alongside my birds I also have dogs, cats, a few reptiles and an African clawed frog. I keep, train and fly raptors too and have been doing it for just over a decade now I hope to be on here often and take part so I guess I will see you all around (I suck at introductions don't I?)

Welcome Daisy!! I'm sorry about the gas leakage accident, it wasn't your fault at all. I'm so excited to see baby bird photos. I love babies. This group is very small but we are slowly building up. Welcome again!

It wasn't my fault but there are some real nasty people in this world who tried to say it was! Oh well. I love babies too. Breeding is hard though. So many ups and downs. And small is fine! We can all get to know each other better Thanks!

Uchh, I hate those type of people. The only thing they add to our lives is guilt which we already have from the accident. They are completely useless. I agree, breeding does have its ups and downs but the end result is most of the time excellent. Im glad youll be able to help us grow the forum. I really appreciate it.

Hello Daisy. You seem like my kind of gal. I love herping. And falconry. And birds.
What kind of birds and herps do you have?

I had all sorts when I had my companion parrots but at the moment I'm currently keeping in my aviaries budgies, cockatiels, black masked lovebirds, black cheeked lovebirds, red fronted kakarikis, yellow fronted kakarikis, diamond doves, Japanese quails. As a current companion who will soon be going into an aviary once it's all finished I have a celestial parrotlet that I haven't announced anywhere. I have had him for 5 months now. Oh and an elderly disabled Indian ringneck who I haven't actually mentioned anywhere else yet My raptors are a Harris' hawk and an American kestrel Herp-wise I keep 2 Kenyan sand boas, 1 Carolina corn snake, 1 royal/ball python, 1 Texas black rat snake, 3 x common boa (BCI) two of which are youngsters and one was an older 10ft rescue. A bearded dragon, a leopard gecko and an Irian Jaya blue tongue skink. Most of my reptiles have been rehomes or rescues that people didn't want, that or they had defects that made them 'undersirable'. Oh my gosh I've forgot to include my chelonians haha. I have a yellow bellied slider, an Ouachita map turtle and 3 musk turtles. The only amphibian I have is a rather chubby albino African clawed frog

Lovely herps. I used to have a normal ball python female, who I got for free and had for her a year, but I gave her to a little boy that always loved her.
I am going to acquire an albino BP male (cheaper and smaller than females) in a few months to a year. I would love to have some chameleons, leopard geckos and bearded dragons too, but seeing as the birds are my priority I probably won't get anything more than a snake.

Thank you! I actually had a corn snake a few years back but he escaped and for the birds safety I gave him to a friend. He could get out even with a lock on his vivarium, sigh! I told myself I wouldn't own any reptiles again but when I still had my flock I had an emergency corn snake rescue dumped on me. He was the only one I had for some time but when I lost my flock I decided to keep more as they're very low maintenance and have really helped fill the hole Good luck with your new BP whenever you get him! I love them, little pet rocks Mine is great to handle but he was a right pain to get started on food. Went months! But now he's my best eater and will literally throw himself at ME and not the mouse when he's in food mode haha
