It's a suspension. So it's a powder mixed into a liquid. I shake it up before I give it to her.

Well the powder is insoluble, so it doesn't actually dissolve into the liquid...that's why it's called a suspension. I just gave her another dose. I split it into 3 doses today, I have her one at 4, then 4:15, and 4:35..because I can't give it too far apart. We'll see how it goes. I'm supposed to meet up to learn crop needling at 6 and the vet is supposed to call me anytime to discuss Allie's meds.

maybe JUST germinate the seed first before completely spouting it, she may be more open to the idea and the transition may be easier. my friend has a tiel who wont touch sprouted but he will eat germinated seed

Okay, so I went to Michelle's (breeder) and the crop needle is not that big of a deal.
And, just as I was leaving her house, the vet called me back. He said he'd rather me not use the needle for now..he said it was a possibility but he'd like me to try other things first. Today I split the dose into 3 parts and did them 15 minutes apart and it went better..he said that was fine. He said he doesn't really know why the meds are clumping up and that he's never had an issue with doxycycline. He talked about a medicine to chase the doxy with, it is usually used for chicks who regurgitate their food. It makes the crop empty so if she was regurgitating the medicine then this would prevent her from doing so. And he said the doxy shots might irritate the skin and that he doesn't typically use them, but that he'll look into them for me.
I'm supposed to call him back in a couple days to let him know how the split doses are going and hopefully he'll give me feedback on the shots then. I told him I didn't want to stop the doxy all together because she sneezes more than I'm comfortable with, but he told me if this was reaking more havoc than good then I wouldn't be a bad mommy for considering it.

And I'll try to do that with the sprouts. I think it's partly that they're moist and then partly that they have tails. lol

germinating them then patting them dry might help how dusty is she? do you think her dust could be irritating her? or another one of your birds? maybe in her old home something was different (more dust, less, something else...) never know.

She's molting, but she isn't like especially dusty. And she isn't around the other birds. She's in quarantine at least until she finishes her doxy treatment. She was kept outside in her old home, except for the last 2 weeks she was there. And she was caged with 3 other birds. But she sneezes pretty often.
