I am one of those that do believe that some budgies are just too wild to be tamed and my Winston is one of those. I have tried all sort of training methods with him and the furthest I got with him is getting him to step on a stick. I love the little guy but have gave up on training him because he is just too wild- very sad I know .

not everybird is a people bird. mango is like that, i've let him be as it is clear he is happier without human contact, he likes being talked to, but not held. but he sometimes will lay in your hand no problem, but he generally does not care much to be touched. just how he is.

i know but when everyone says that they have a bird that they couldnt fully tame. it makes me sad because it has taken soooo long for butch to just put one foot on the perch. and yesterday he was just scared of me and i dont know why, then during our training session, he started chirping really loud ???

butch might be a skittish bird and it will take ten times longer.
i have tame birds, i dont have time on my hands for every pet we have to be hands on, so i am perfectly content to let mango stay how he wants and not bother him. he is easily stressed and when i have to restrain him, he plucks when he is restrained, so for him he just isnt very good with people, hes stressed and scared so i let him stay how he wants and if he wants to be near us we let him, just all on his terms.
