i have gotten mine used to me clipping her nails. for her front ones she sits on her little table and i just lift her paw a little and clip on or two then give her some oats and even when they are not ready to be clipped i still pick up her paw and push the fur out of the way and kind of 'squeeze' her nail to get her used to the feeling of her nails being touched. and while i do that i say 'find the nail and clip it' and i say the same thing when clipping. once i just talked about clipping nails to her for about 10 minutes and after that she was pretty good with it. i try to do the same with her back ones but sometimes i have my mom hold her. but she will squirm and kick and even bite your neck (which also happens if you are carrying her around for too long

my husbands bunny was wild. she was orphaned and he raised her and she was still wild. so she didnt want to be held much, though you could hold her and pet her when she sat on you, you just had trouble restraining her

when i have a hamster it was nice not to have to clip the nails. it is so funny that the chinchillas look so big and when you pick them up they are small and weigh nothing
