its a good sign that he stepped up have you clipped them yet? toby was a full body greywing, but i think he was a light green bird. it would be awesome if we can do a budgie mutation thread, even if it takes awhile even if you find an official showing site that shows all the mutations, that would be perfect!

well that just shows how much i know about this forum! i tried catching them to clip their wings, i failed and couldnt catch them Bowie got on the perch again and was fine for a long time but then flew out again. he landed on of the the blades of the ceiling fan and it took a little bit longer for him to get on the perch. the olives name is Mrs. Pickles i think i will feed millet for a while and work with Bowie the most. i have put a snuggle tube in the cage for the grey one, but he dont seem to want to use it. i will leave it in and he will probably get to it eventually

have you considered one of these..... instead of a tube to prevent nestiness?

The grey and Bowie are both males and they are in the same cage so their shouldn't be nesting. I have thought about flat surfaces for Bowie because I think his foot has more problems than the mssing toe and I think a flat spot would be good for him. There just isn't enough room for a platform. There will be room when their cages are put together and I think I might put one on my new play gym. I really hoPe Bowie is trained for when quarantine is done. He will already get on a perch so I thnk it will be possible. Then I can see how he is on the tree, he might have his own flat playgym if he needs it.

he's do well with perches with good grip and flat perches. so rope perches will be very good for him, and perches wrapped with fleece

he has a small perch wrapped in fleece that he sometimes sits on. i wish i could trust the grey one like i do with him so i could take them out and take the big branch perch out and put a dowel there. bowie has a hard time on the branch sometimes i havent decided if i want to train bowie in the cage or outside the cage. he seems fine outside and eventually gets on the perch... i trust him more than any of the others. i wish i knew someone who could slip their wings for free. i am leafing bowies wings though because with his bad feet i think it is best that he has some other way to move- and i know he will come on a perch if he gets out

Having them flutters before they are trained scares me though remembering that time butch flew into my wall and fell about 6 feet and was trapped under my dresser for a while I think it also helped my guys learn to stay on the tree more. I am not always in the room (now that I can trust them to behaive) and Leon still get flying time when I make him fly across the room to get his toy, and he likes flying branch to branch. After I can trust the new ones, I will let their wings grow like I am doing with Leon
